The SmartChem software uses a USB key as a license to enable the operation of the software. If the key is not found, this error is displayed when starting the software.
Make sure the software key that was included with the instrument is plugged into a USB port. Sometimes this key is mistaken for a flash drive and is removed, or in the case of a new computer installation, forgotten to be inserted. If the key is found, remove the key, wait 30 seconds and re-insert the USB key. Windows should find the key and load the drivers.
If this does not work, call for further troubleshooting.
